Sometimes, the best stories don’t go as planned.
A few months ago, I sent a set of Nanat Baby Pima cotton blankets to Lima, Peru. They were supposed to be part of a fundraiser raffle for Operation Smile Peru, the amazing organization giving children born with cleft lip and palate a chance to smile with confidence.
But, as international shipping loves to remind us… the blankets didn’t arrive in time.
Instead of sending them back or letting them collect dust, I asked if we could gift them directly to families in need. And that’s exactly what happened.
Meet Arya
Arya is just 20 days old. Born with a cleft lip and palate, she’s now part of Operation Smile Peru’s comprehensive care program, a full-circle support system that goes way beyond surgery. Think medical treatment, nutritional care, speech therapy, emotional support, and family guidance.
I’m so thrilled that our Skull and Succulent baby blanket, made from soft, luxurious Peruvian Pima cotton, found a home with Arya.
Her mom shared how meaningful the gift was during this vulnerable moment—a small gesture carrying warmth, comfort, and reassurance that they’re not alone.
From raffle to real-life impact
It was “just a blanket,” meant for a raffle prize. But it ended up wrapping a tiny warrior as she prepares for a major milestone.
