Every family has a special baby blanket story, and ours started with the cutest little mix-up. At the end of a long day, when it was time for bed, we would say, ‘Juju and Liam, time to go night-night.’ And as kids do, they made up their own version of "night-night," which turned into “nanat.” From that moment on, their blankets weren’t just blankets – they were nanats, and this new word was born.

As new parents, we quickly realized just how much these simple pieces of fabric meant to our entire family. For Liam and Juju, their nanats became more than just blankets – they were comfort, calm, and the sweetest little companions. The feel, the smell, everything about their nanats was so important to them, creating a deep bond that we, as parents, came to appreciate more and more each day.

Everywhere we went, the nanats came too – like any other member of the family, they couldn’t be left behind. From quick trips to the grocery store, to long drives to visit grandma and grandpa in Delaware, even on flights to my childhood home in France, those nanats were always by our side. One time, Juju left her nanat in France, and it was lovingly packed and shipped home. When Liam’s nanat needed repair, it was sent to my mother in France so she could work her magic and return it like new to Liam. Our kids’ nanats have a lot of miles on them! They’ve been with us every step of the way, and what a journey it has been.

Over the years, we came to understand just how deeply these blankets were woven into the fabric of our family life. They weren’t just there to soothe our children throughout those early years – they became keepers of memories. The nanat holds such sweet memories of your little ones who grow so fast. All the warm moments snuggling together on the couch, all the naps, all the trips in the stroller, all the visits to friends and family, all the love – all stored in this little blanket called nanat.
